Suara Masyarakat
The implementation period for Suara Masyarakat (SM) or ‘Community Voices’ in Bahasa Malaysia, officially began in January 2020. SM is a three-year project funded by the EU and implemented by Internews in Malaysia together with local partners to build the capacity of Malaysian journalists to deliver high quality investigative and data journalism on the reform processes in the country. Moreover, SM aims to develop community information media and networks to improve governance by providing two-way communication between citizens and local authorities mainly through ‘MOJO Kita!

Report striving to build awareness of the direct and indirect impacts of gendered and sexualized disinformation on women in public life, as well as its corresponding impacts on national security and democratic participation. The research defines, quantifies, and evaluates the use of online gendered and sexualized disinformation campaigns against women in politics and beyond.
DEMOS Engendering Hate Report: The counters of state-aligned gendered disinformation online
A report analyzing online spaces being weaponized to exclude women leaders and undermine the role of women in public life. It investigates gendered disinformation on Poland and the Philippines through Twitter data analyses. Additionally, it analyzes themes and topics of gendered disinformation online and actors that typically disseminate it.
Initiative for Media Freedom
The Initiative for Media Freedom (IMF) is a five-year program implemented by Internews and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Internews and its partners work collaboratively to enhance democratic governance that provides economic, political, and social inclusion and advances social stability. The Initiative for Media Freedom will advance media capacity by improving the environment for a free press, bolstering capacity of media and other organizations to address disinformation, and strengthening media self-regulation in the Philippines.
Media Program in Ukraine
The USAID-funded Media Program in Ukraine will empower local media to expand Ukrainian citizens’ access to high-quality news and information. This project, implemented by Internews from 2018-2023, is the largest media development activity in Ukraine’s history, and represents a significant US $35m investment in Ukraine’s independent media sector. The last four years have seen a raft of important media reforms in the realms of access to information, transparency of media ownership and public service broadcasting.
The Social Media Dashboard for the German 2021 Federal Election
A live dashboard analyzing the top German candidate's presence on multiple social media platforms. The website highlights posts published by the candidates themselves and posts made about the candidate by the general public. In-depth analyses will be published as the campaign period continues until October 2021.
Digital Democracy Risk Assessment: A User Guide
A user guide for civil society organizations and researchers to assess the vulnerability of a country’s electoral integrity to online manipulation. It also provides strategies for both parties to assemble reports based on a standard methodology and comparable datasets.
Assessment of Online Risks for the 2021 German Federal Elections
A report analyzing the online environment and potential risks for the 2021 German Federal Elections. It studies topics ranging from online advertising, hate speech, disinformation and foreign interference. The end of the report provides recommendations for improvements and regulations in each category.
Rooted in Trust
Rooted in Trust is a pandemic information response plan countering the unprecedented scale and speed of the spread of rumors and misinformation about COVID-19. The plan is global in reach and grounded in hyper-local information ecosystems in the Philippines, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Mali, Sudan, the Central African Republic and Colombia to ensure impact on the global level and on the local level directly in vulnerable communities affected by humanitarian crises.
