Fact Check Initiative Japan
FIJ is a non-profit organization for the promotion of Japanese fact-checking aimed at protecting society from mis/disinformation.
FIJ staff and volunteers monitor questionable information daily using the FCC system.
Media partners publish fact-checking articles based on their own investigations and information provided by FIJ.
The FCC system, which was developed by Smartnews, Inc. and Tohoku University Natural Language Processing Lab, automatically detects questionable information from Twitter.
EU vs. Disinformation
EUvsDisinfo is the flagship project of the European External Action Service’s East StratCom Task Force. It was established in 2015 to better forecast, address, and respond to the Russian Federation’s ongoing disinformation campaigns affecting the European Union, its Member States, and countries in the shared neighbourhood. EUvsDisinfo’s core objective is to increase public awareness and understanding of the Kremlin’s disinformation operations, and to help citizens in Europe and beyond develop resistance to digital information and media manipulation.

EU DisinfoLab is a young NGO focused on researching and tackling sophisticated disinformation campaigns targeting the EU, its member states, core institutions and core values. We develop and maintain the main independent European platform on disinformation, which assembles the community of experts fighting disinformation and provides them with needed tools and resources to encourage collaboration.
EU Code of Practice on Disinformation
The European Union developed a Code of Practice on Disinformation based on the findings of its High Level Working Group on the issue. This included recommendations for companies operating in the EU, suggestions for developing media literacy programs for members responding to the issues, and developing technology supporting the code. It is an established common set of practices for EU member states on dealing with disinformation. It includes an annex identifying best practices that signatories will apply to implement the Code's commitments.

Emergent is a real-time rumor tracker. It's part of a research project with the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University that focuses on how unverified information and rumor are reported in the media. It aims to develop best practices for debunking misinformation.
El Sabueso
Fooling a dog is difficult. He uses his sense of smell, his sight, he digs in the ground. With his senses he discovers everything ... even the lies of a politician. On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, Animal Político started its speech verification project called El Sabueso to contribute to monitoring the public debate. El Sabueso will analyze a phrase of relevance to national life and, with hard data, will establish whether it is true or false. This type of journalistic exercise is known as fact-checking and has been a trend in Latin America for several years.
El Poder de Elegir (de Chicas Poderosas)
El Poder de Elegir is a project to monitor and fact-check the political information that circulates through WhatsApp during the campaign period of the presidential elections of 2018. It is proposed to monitor and verify in real time the information that circulates through this messaging service and that is related to candidates and elections, in order to be leaders in the debate on voter manipulation strategies, involving civil society.
