The Wikipedia Community's Platform Against Disinformation

Sourceror leverages Wikipedia’s credibility data to improve media literacy and combat disinformation on the web. The platform provides a browser extension that informs Internet users of the quality of the content they consume, and an API that enables developers to incorporate the Wikipedia community’s reliability evaluations into new technologies.

The "Surviving the Networks" project aims to strengthen civic culture in Brazil by offering information and strategies on how to better inform oneself in social networks. This includes a Facebook page, book and other social media resources to counter disinformation. After all, in order to survive in the networks, it is necessary to learn how platforms work, to identify and not divulge false news, such as trying to protect the virtual space from the action of false profiles, the formation of opinion bubbles and destructive polarization.

SiBerkreasi is a national movement to overcome the biggest potential threats that are being faced by Indonesia, namely the spread of negative content through the internet such as hoaxes, cyberbullying and online radicalism.

The Scribe reference API will list references based on usage and domain by language. This API is a useful tool for Scribe, but also outside the project can be widely used whenever the credibility of references from a Wikipedia perspective needs to be referred to. Understanding the reusability of Wikipedia references can scale to a variety of other projects. This is a research project that will work to expand the definition and scope of what is considered a reliable source (WP:RS) on Wikipedia for marginalized communities. The Raskrinkavanje.ba platform was launched by the team of the "Why Not" organization, which has many years of experience in fact-checking, through work on checking the accuracy and consistency of statements of public officials, and monitoring the fulfillment of election promises on the Istinomjer platform.

The COR curriculum was developed by the Stanford History Education Group as part of MediaWise—a partnership of SHEG, the Poynter Institute, and the Local Media Association. The MediaWise collaboration is supported by Google.org as part of their Google News Initiative.

The goal of MediaWise is to provide educators with tools to help students evaluate online information. It is based on classroom research that shows that students in COR classrooms gain significantly in the knowledge and skills needed to determine the trustworthiness of digital content.
