South Asia Check is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit initiative by Panos South Asia which aims to promote accuracy and accountability in public debate. We examine statements and claims made by public figures in Nepal and occasionally across South Asia and publish our findings on this site. This is not a finger-pointing exercise, but an attempt to promote transparency, truth and accountability in politics and media in the region.

Panos South Asia is a non-profit media development organization active in South Asia and beyond since 1997.

The Raskrinkavanje.ba platform was launched by the team of the "Why Not" organization, which has many years of experience in fact-checking, through work on checking the accuracy and consistency of statements of public officials, and monitoring the fulfillment of election promises on the Istinomjer platform.

Rappler values truth-telling, facts, and factual reporting. We correct at the first instance inaccuracies spotted in our own reports and false claims made by public officials, key public personalities, and other accounts on social media. Fact-checking is done both internally and externally to create and sustain an environment anchored on truth, which is essential to a healthy and working democracy.

Istinomjer is an initiative that focuses on the promotion of the responsibility of political parties that participate in the executive branch, as well as holders of public office who have responsibility towards the citizens of BiH. Its goal is to direct the political and public discourse in BiH as much as possible towards the promotion of political responsibility as a fundamental principle of democracy.

The Global Disinformation Index (GDI) aims to disrupt, defund and down-rank disinformation sites. We collectively work with governments, business and civil society. We operate on three core principles of neutrality, independence and transparency.

Their mission is to catalyse change within the tech industry to disrupt the incentives to create and disseminate disinformation online.

Data enriches public debate and therefore strengthens democracy. An informed society is capable of making conscious decisions.

Under this premise, in October 2016 ECUADOR CHEQUEA was born : the first medium dedicated to the verification of public discourse and misleading content that circulates on the Internet. The platform is an initiative of Fundamedios , which since 2007 defends freedom of expression and the press, promotes quality journalism and trains journalists. Dogruluk Payi is a Turkish fact checking website that evaluates information based on the follow criteria:

(1) COMMITMENT TO THE IMPARTIALITY AND FAIRNESS PRINCIPLE
Fact-checker makes every analysis according to identical standards. While doing his analysis, he does not concentrate on any political side. It pays attention that the same control process is applied in every analysis and that only the evidence leads to conclusions. It does not make any defense or assume a political position on the analyzed issues.

Colombiacheck is a project of the Editorial Board , a non-profit, non-partisan organization that brings together more than 100 associated journalists in Colombia to promote investigative journalism. The project consists of a digital, open and collaborative platform in which articles based on the fact-checking technique are published, which comes from a long tradition of Anglo-Saxon journalism and is known as fact-checking.
