Our mission is to ensure that information technology and social media play a proactive role in supporting democracy and human rights globally.

As a community we create programs, training, and dialogue that promote the safe and responsible use of technology to advance open, democratic politics and accountable, transparent governments. We work together to take action to counteract challenges to democracy that emerge from new technologies.

The DeepTrust Alliance is a global coalition of stakeholders advancing the fight against digital disinformation and deepfakes.

A 501(c)(6), DeepTrust is the only multi-industry organization using a network approach to create the standards to combat digital fakes.

We believe:
- Technology is simply a tool
It is only “good” or “bad” depending on how society uses it.

The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) was formed in the firm belief that there is an urgent need to strengthen institution and capacity-building for good governance and conflict transformation in Sri Lanka and that non-partisan civil society groups have an important and constructive contribution to make to this process. The primary role envisaged for the Centre in the field of public policy is a pro-active and interventionary one, aimed at the dissemination and advocacy of policy alternatives for non-violent conflict resolution and democratic governance.

MAFINDO is an anti hoax CSO (civil society organization). We began as an online grassroots movement in 2015. Founded as an organization on 19th November 2016, we have spearheaded many anti hoax initiatives, such as crowdsourced hoax busting, digital literacy education for the public, CekFakta.com, and public campaigns to raise awareness about hoax and its dangers. Poynter's global guide on existing attempts to legislate against what can broadly be referred to as online misinformation. This guide seeks to create an inclusive, collaborative approach to addressing misinformation around the world. While not every law contained here relates to misinformation specifically, they’ve all often been wrapped into that broader discussion. Article will be updated on an ongoing basis.
