Research and Education
Within the disinformation and memory studies direction, the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) team is developing tools in several ways. Firstly, IDFI research historical roots and disinformation narratives that are weaponized in contemporary times. Secondly, IDFI develops academic courses that are offered to the students in schools of media and social sciences, and to representatives of CSOs and civil servants.
The Social Media Dashboard for the German 2021 Federal Election
A live dashboard analyzing the top German candidate's presence on multiple social media platforms. The website highlights posts published by the candidates themselves and posts made about the candidate by the general public. In-depth analyses will be published as the campaign period continues until October 2021.
Digital Democracy Risk Assessment: A User Guide
A user guide for civil society organizations and researchers to assess the vulnerability of a country’s electoral integrity to online manipulation. It also provides strategies for both parties to assemble reports based on a standard methodology and comparable datasets.
MOE Election Observation
The Election Observation Mission (La Misión de Observación Electoral, MOE) is an election observer group based in Colombia. In the 2019 Colombia elections and in others, including the 2016 peace referendum, they have formed partnerships with Facebook and Twitter both for creating awareness of voting processes and other democratic issues throughout hashtags and online campaigns, and also set up systems for reporting harmful content on those platforms. MOE also worked with a network of universities for online and media monitoring of content during the 2019 elections cycle.

Rappler Fact Check
Rappler values truth-telling, facts, and factual reporting. We correct at the first instance inaccuracies spotted in our own reports and false claims made by public officials, key public personalities, and other accounts on social media. Fact-checking is done both internally and externally to create and sustain an environment anchored on truth, which is essential to a healthy and working democracy.
Myth Detector
Myth Detector is Media Development Foundation’s (MDF) project aimed at debunking fake news and studying propaganda methods and strategies revealed in Georgian language media. It is mostly fact checking in the Georgian media environment but also includes a media literacy component.
Memo 98
Memo 98 is a specialist media monitoring organization, with extensive experience of delivery media analyses on behalf of international institutions as well as technical assistance to civil society groups. They were launched with support from the US-based National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) in June 1998 to monitor the Slovak media prior to the 1998 parliamentary elections, using a methodology of qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Full Fact is a UK-based independent factchecking charity. They are a registered charity, actively seeking a diverse range of funding and are transparent about all our sources of income.
They provide free tools, information and advice so that anyone can check the claims heard from politicians and the media.
Fato ou Fake
Fato ou Fake is a news literacy project that vetted more than 700 pieces of information ahead of the elections.
It will identify messages that cause mistrust and clarify what is real and what is fake. Clearance will be done together by journalists from G1, O Globo, Extra, Season, Value, CBN, GloboNews and TV Globo. Politicians’ speeches will also be checked out. Know the principles and methodology. This site is responsible for checking widely shared news on general subjects.
