DEMOS Engendering Hate Report: The counters of state-aligned gendered disinformation online
A report analyzing online spaces being weaponized to exclude women leaders and undermine the role of women in public life. It investigates gendered disinformation on Poland and the Philippines through Twitter data analyses. Additionally, it analyzes themes and topics of gendered disinformation online and actors that typically disseminate it.
Initiative for Media Freedom
The Initiative for Media Freedom (IMF) is a five-year program implemented by Internews and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Internews and its partners work collaboratively to enhance democratic governance that provides economic, political, and social inclusion and advances social stability. The Initiative for Media Freedom will advance media capacity by improving the environment for a free press, bolstering capacity of media and other organizations to address disinformation, and strengthening media self-regulation in the Philippines.
Rooted in Trust
Rooted in Trust is a pandemic information response plan countering the unprecedented scale and speed of the spread of rumors and misinformation about COVID-19. The plan is global in reach and grounded in hyper-local information ecosystems in the Philippines, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Mali, Sudan, the Central African Republic and Colombia to ensure impact on the global level and on the local level directly in vulnerable communities affected by humanitarian crises.
VERA Files Fact Check
VERA Files is a nonstock, nonprofit independent media organization. Founded in March 2008, it is published by veteran Filipino journalists taking a deeper look into current Philippine issues. Vera is Latin for “true.”
The organization’s chief purposes, as embodied in its articles of incorporation, are to:
(1) Engage in the research, writing, production and distribution of news and other media products and related services in multiple formats, including but not limited to print broadcast and online, to advance excellence in journalism; and
A guide to anti-misinformation legal actions around the world
Poynter's global guide on existing attempts to legislate against what can broadly be referred to as online misinformation. This guide seeks to create an inclusive, collaborative approach to addressing misinformation around the world. While not every law contained here relates to misinformation specifically, they’ve all often been wrapped into that broader discussion. Article will be updated on an ongoing basis.
