African Academy for Open Source Investigations (AAOSI)
The African Academy for Open Source Investigations (AAOSI) is an initiative supporting media and NGOs in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal to identify and address problematic behaviour in the information space. The initiative will supply training and mentorship, as well as resources and support from the ICFJ's other teams and partners.
Kenya Election 2022
Leading up to and following the Kenyan election on August 9 2022, the Sentinel Project is expanding its previous work in the area, from Una Hakika to 15 of Kenya's highest risk counties. The project is monitoring, verifying, and countering the spread of harmful rumors and misinformation, and setting up an early warning system for violence.

PesaCheck is a fact-checking initiative to verify the financial and other statistical numbers quoted by public figures across East Africa, supported by International Budget Partnership, and Code for Africa affiliates in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Mobile Information Literacy Project
The Technology & Social Change Group (TASCHA) at the University of Washington's Information School explores the role of digital technologies in building more open, inclusive, and equitable societies. They are a center for multidisciplinary research, currently focusing on data equity, essential skills for digital life, women and technology, civic engagement, new geographies of knowledge, and public libraries. They are particularly interested in people and places that face social, economic, and political barriers.
A guide to anti-misinformation legal actions around the world
Poynter's global guide on existing attempts to legislate against what can broadly be referred to as online misinformation. This guide seeks to create an inclusive, collaborative approach to addressing misinformation around the world. While not every law contained here relates to misinformation specifically, they’ve all often been wrapped into that broader discussion. Article will be updated on an ongoing basis.
