At a time when false information abounds on social networks, even in conventional media (radio, television, newspapers) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At a time when public figures change their speech in a versatile way, abusing the credulity of the population, it was time to arm themselves with a fact-checking tool. ASBL project Congo factchekers initiative IFC, Congo Check is the first information site specializing in factchecking in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Launched at the beginning of 2018, our mission is to fight against false information that has become commonplace on the internet in the DRC, most of which is disseminated by malicious individuals on social networks and sometimes by websites. In addition to this initial goal, Congo Check launched at the end of 2018 in the evaluation of promises made by politicians and other leaders thanks to its new program called `` Barometer of promises ''. The site also has a directory that lists major online publications that have been found to be fake after checks conducted by the team. The goal is to do everything possible to fight against the dissemination of disinformation on the internet and against inaccuracy in the speeches of leaders and public figures as well as false promises by politicians. We are an independent initiative and we remain so until now. The site also has a directory that lists major online publications that have been found to be fake after checks conducted by the team.
